Western Classical Music versus Chinese Traditional Music: the Ideological Battle in Chinese Preschool Education.

Abstract

This paper compares Western classical music versus Chinese traditional music in Chinese preschool education. It will also indicate what students think about traditional Chinese music and Western classical music and how they value traditions in academic Chinese music. A sociological survey, a statistical analysis, and a content analysis of relevant scientific papers were also used. The technique was put in place as a result of a scientific experiment. A survey of kindergarten students was carried out with three groups of 25 people each (the general sample consisted of 75 respondents). The tool Neural Designer, which is often used in neuroscience research, was employed. Children's surveys are part of the data and resources collected for the project. Interest in Chinese musical history and Western classical music expanded greatly for both experimental groups. Following the trial sessions, participants' interest in Chinese traditional music improved.
